As a lifelong learner, I chose to pursue the Master of Arts in Chinese Values-Based Leadership Education (MA(CVBLE)) with the aim of further deepening my engagement in educational management and values guidance. At a time when holistic education places growing emphasis on character development and the cultivation of positive values, I hoped to systematically explore the theoretical foundations of Chinese culture, values-based leadership, and educational practice through the programme.
The programme has enabled me to better respond to the needs of shaping teachers’ and students’ values in my daily work as a school leader. It has also helped me further develop a more comprehensive framework for values education on campus, while strengthening my capacity for educational leadership.
During my learning journey, the greatest challenge came from the English presentation in the Global Perspectives course. Faced with the pressure of presenting in English, together with the difficulties of coordinating group members from different regions and with different schedules, I took the initiative to support team communication and coordination. I helped my group members understand the content, made good use of AI tools, and worked collaboratively with the team to complete the preparation and presentation.
Through repeated practice, revision, and mutual support, we eventually completed the task successfully. This experience not only took me beyond my comfort zone, but also strengthened my confidence in facing challenges. At the end-of-semester award ceremony, I further challenged myself by sharing my learning reflections with classmates in English. It was a powerful reminder that growth often begins with the courage to take the first step.
For me, the most significant outcome of this learning journey was the development of a more systematic mindset for knowledge management. By applying the theories learned in the programme to my reflections on organizational operations, I learned to revisit management frameworks and modes of team collaboration from a broader and more strategic perspective.
This experience not only deepened my strategic thinking and broadened my leadership perspective but also strengthened my belief that educational innovation is rooted in continuous learning and self-reflection.
Guided by the belief of “striving to become the best version of myself,” I hope to grow into an educator with a Chinese soul and a global vision. Looking ahead, I will continue to promote the integration of values education and educational management and contribute to building a school community with a stronger sense of well-being and deeper humanistic care.
MA(CVBLE) has been more than a learning journey; it has been a process of self-breakthrough and personal growth. Through theoretical learning and practical exploration, I have deepened my understanding of Chinese culture, values education, and educational leadership. The experience has also further strengthened my commitment to promoting holistic education and contributing to the development of education.
